Granada is such a fascinating city, with lots to see so, that sometimes guests choose to stay overnight and we collect them the following day. - Please ask for details.
Granada is a beautiful city and an ideal Nerja day tour if you are on holiday in Nerja or perhaps Torre del Mar. It’s most famous attraction is the Alhambra palace which was built by the Moors in the fifteenth century, when the Nisrad dynasty was at its peak. The journey to Granada takes about an hour and a half. The car park for the Alhambra is an ideal base for sightseeing. We book tickets for the palace a considerable time in advance as it is very popular and visitors are only allowed in at prescribed times, but the Alcazaba and the magnificent gardens ensure there is plenty to see. Just outside the Alhambra it is possible to take a short journey by tourist bus to the old quarter, the Albiacin which is a lovely area, where it feels you have stepped back in time. If you prefer walking, it is only a short walk and very interesting passing through a park with tall trees and some very impressive buildings, but it is very steep, We usually advise guests where to go and arrange to meet them back at the car when they have finished. Our day tours last as long as our guests want. Some people spend thirty minutes visiting the Alhambra palace while others drag themselves away after four hours. This is why we don't offer a guided tour as the there are excellent audio guides which are much more flexible. As with the other Nerja day tours, Steve and Sheila collect you from your holiday accommodation at times you choose. Granada also makes a very popular excursion on our sightseeing holidays.
